An automatic electric gun (AEG) uses an electric motor powered by a rechargable battery to give you an awesome, fully automatic airsoft experience. This electric airsoft rifle is the most popular of the three types of airsoft mechanisms, and is the airsoft gun or rifle of choice for most airsoft enthusiasts. Simply put, an AEG airsoft gun is powered by an on-board Ni-Cad battery similar to the battery used in hobby R/C Cars. The battery-powered motor turns gears inside the gun to compress and release a piston, creating the blast of air needed to propel the 6mm BB through the gun's barrel. This system allows the gun to generate the power needed to support the fully-automatic features of most AEG airsoft rifles. The result of this automatic airsoft rifle is the delivery of a rate-of-fire (ROF) from 600 to 900 rounds-per-minute (RPM), mimicking the capabilities of real steel firearms. I got it today, Thought it was going to be bigger. It would fit a 6year old no problem, The button to hold the mag in broke. Hopefully super glue will fix that. The Mag it self is kinda crap because I tried using full auto and it was out of Bbs but there was at least half in the mag. So you gotta take it out shake it put it back in and your out in 10sec. Rinse and repeat... I guess you get what you pay for in this case... Thought it would be a cheap alternative to my sniper but its just kinda crap. Imo don't buy it. Buy something else if you want a cheap gun.

Its good for beginners, i played with guys with 100 dollar ak-47s, its a competitor, if your a good player. But if your starting, this is perfect for backyard games.

I bought this gun not because I am an airsoft enthusiast but because I collect replicas. I got this one and was happy with its realistic look.

And then, I went to test it. The safety knob on the right side of the gun broke out of the box... I guess the plastic is a cheap one, not ABS... Not a big deal, there is another knob on the left side and I am left handed anyways :)

Then I fired it: the magazine fell out when it fired in full automatic mode (the semi automatic did not even work, to tell the truth): the magazine lock mechanism was broken too and it does not hold it in place.

In short: it was garbage in spite of its looks, which is the only thing that earned the two stars....

Based on the other review, I guess I am the unlucky 1% that gets broken items from Well :)
