Product Review

Sig Sauer SP2022 is a high power accurate pistol. With the BAX system allows you to adjust your shots and increase your distance. The lower tactical rail allows you to add tactical gear you need to the fight.

Amazon.com

A 1:1 scale replica of a Sig Sauer pistol, the SP2022 spring-powered pistol is remarkably authentic. Like all airsoft guns, the SP2022 fires small plastic pellets known as BBs, which are propelled out of the gun via a spring-powered mechanism. The advantage of the airsoft pistol, however, is that players can safely train, simulate, or play with the gun without fearing serious injury. The SP2022 looks, feels, weighs, and functions just like a real Sig Sauer firearm, but is built for casual recreation rather than weaponized use. In fact, the only way you can tell a real steel firearm from an airsoft pistol is the blazing orange tip and the BBs that fire when you pull the trigger. The SP2022 offers such features as a versatile BAX hop-up system that lets you adjust your shots and increase your distance, a low tactical rail for attaching accessories, and a velocity of 315 feet per second with 0.12-gram BBs. The SP2022 is designated High Power Accurate (HPA).

This review is from: Soft Air Sig Sauer SP2022 Spring Powered Pistol, Black (Sports)
Value for Price: Excellent
Quality: Very Good
Accuracy: Excellent
Appearance: Very Good
Form vs. Function: Very Good
Cons: Little metal, safety and slide release, hard to cock

This spring operated firearm is Kick A$$ accurate... not quite a tack driver but I consistantly hit my paper in the 9-10 rings using stock sights (no laser). NO FLYERS. I'm using .20 gram polished BB's.

It's a little light since it doesn't have a metal slide like its Co2 brother. There's added weight with the stock mag installed... but the extra mag (purchased separately) is heavier and more durable feeling than the stock one. Only one mag comes with this gun.

It is field stripable (may void warranty) just like the real steel and the slide lock DOES work (mine was initially stuck until I took the gun apart). The slide lock and safety seem to be the only vulnerable plastic parts. I've heard of others breaking theirs (in other reviews). I wouldn't squeeze...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Starter Spring Pistol, March 3, 2009

This was my first airsoft gun, and I was really satisfied with it.

**Buy this from AirgunDepot for only 37.95

Pros:
-Good FPS: 315 with .20 grams
-Easy to cock, unlike some spring guns
-Nice size and weight
-Will fit any standard holster

Cons
-Somewhat difficult to find spare mags for... I found only one site with them: ShortyUSA
-BBs that come with it are terrible, don't use them, they'll just jam the gun
-Doesn't come with anything to unjam it. I used paper rolled up really tight
-Directions are poorly translated to English and are hard to understand

4.0 out of 5 stars Spring powered Sig Sauer SP2022, November 9, 2007

Looks good, feels good, aims good. I was surprised by how heavy this replica weapon was, definitely like the real thing. Did some target shooting today and the aim was nice and accurate using .2G pellets. Magazine is also heavy, slides in and out smoothly and has a nice feel to it.

Only issue I have is about that every now and then, gun gets jammed if I cock the barrel carelessly. After going through a couple rounds you will know for yourself how to cock it in a way that won't jam it. You have to slide the barrel back smoothly and firmly.

Amazon's picture doesn't do this beauty justice. See here for a better picture of this Sig Sauer SP2022:
