Summary: Ok... 2006-02-23
Comment: I think this is the pistol I have, anyway, this gun is a good gun for starters. It's pretty acurate, but its also pretty heavy. The magazine that with mine was pretty hard to load without a speed loader, so if you want this I really do suggest getting a speed loader.

Summary: Cool gun that doesn't shoot as well as it should 2006-01-17
Comment: **Palco is actually a distributer, not a manufacturer. This gun is actually an HFC M9 repackaged as the Palco Thunder**
I picked this gun up at a local retailer because I wanted another airsoft pistol, and especially a heavyweight.
**Build**
When I got it home I was pretty excited because of the abundance of metal parts (take down lever (above and in front of the trigger that lets you remove the barrel), the trigger, the safety, hammer, magazine). The safety will NOT wear out or break as it's metal on metal with part of the trigger assembly. The magazines are well constructed with two different ways to load (from the top like usual mags of this type, but there's also an overflow hole at the bottom you can just pour the bb's right into). The gun did rattle quite a bit, but I added a plastic shim alongside the trigger assembly and that helped quite a bit. The mags do rattle a bit as well, but attempts to solve that caused misfeeds, but a little rattle is nothing I can't live with. The cocking action is easy and smooth, and the gun has a nice weight to it. I give it 4 stars for build quality (5 if it didn't rattle). It is a bit plasticy looking by the way, but not too bad.
**Power and Accuracy**
This is where I was disappointed. First, I want to note that it's shooting much better after I put a few hundred rounds through it. I hoped it'd be in shape after fewer (100 maybe which isn't too unusual for guns like this), but it took a while. There are still more wild shots than I'd like, but it's not 100% frustrating anymore.
As for power, it's a fairly weak shooter. I don't have a chrono, but if I had to guess I'd say at MOST 250 fps with .12 bb's. Trying to use .2 bb's was disappointing, with a good foot of drop in about 15 or 20 feet. It won't puncture cardboard at any distance, so it might be closer to 230 fps.
**Overall**
This gun is somewhat of a heart breaker. Maybe I got a bum gun, but with the quality internals, great magazine and good looks, it's one of my favorite guns to PLAY with. Unfortunately it's an unreliable shooter. Because of that, only 3 stars. It'd work well enough to plink around in the backyard with buddies, but if I were in a more serious game it would be far from my first choice for a sidearm.
