The rifle is everything I expected, it shot well and true. It also handles different types of pellets pretty much the same. Which is uncommon in alot of pellet rifles. There is one major problem though, the scope that gamo supplied it with sucked. I mean bad!!!! It wouldn't hold a zero at all, after four or five shots it would start going all over the place. I spoke to a gamo rep. and he told me he uses a BSA scope. I did not feel like waiting four to six weeks to get it back, plus the cost of shipping and handling for repairs. So, I bought a BSA scope and it is very, very good and holds a zero!!!!!! So be ready to change scopes if you buy from GAMO.

Great functioning gun, good range and accurate for class, definitely adult oriented. Just remember...small projectiles that break sound barrier still make big cracking sound. There goes the neighborhood.

This rifle ( The Gamo Varmint Hunter HP .177 cal air rifle) is my first air rifle and I love it! The rifle comes with a 4x32 scope+flashlight+laser+batteries for the laser and flashlight, a cleaning cloth for the scope lens, 50 PBA pellets, 2 L wrenches for mounting and adjusting the scope, a Smooth Action Trigger (SAT) already installed which is very smooth too and it looks a lot better on the gun instead of the stock trigger, and a 1 year warranty. I bought plenty of pellets both led and PBA but haven't tried PBA yet. I shot around 20-30 lead pellets (Crosman pointed premium pellets) and I haven't even cleaned the barrel or sighted it in and it is very accurate. The gun has some pretty decent recoil on it and breaking the barrel down definitely takes quit a bit of strength. I live in a residential area and the neighbors seem fine, I haven't had any cops show up so I'm happy. Shipping was fast as well (but when does amazon or UPS ever disappoint?)and it also makes my WE SCAR Light...Read more
