I no doubt aroused some interest in my comment by the phrase "... but be informed... " but I make the comment because while there is great information out there on the internet concerning air rifles per se, alas, there is also a great deal of MIS-information. For example, if you order this rifle, LOOK at the barrel on the top side of the rifle and you should see the following: "Gamo Big Cat .. Velocity 950 FPS [Feet Per Second] with PBA [Performance Ballistic Alloy] Platinum" [sic]. 'Some' [please note my qualifying that!] folks who order this rifle immediately think they have been sent the wrong rifle because they expected to see something like "1200 FPS" because often enough the Gamo folks who make the "Big Cat" will show the wordage "Big Cat 1200" but this refers to the .177 caliber model and NOT the .22 caliber model which [the .22 caliber] generally have 'lower' FPS ratings than the .177 caliber models. Ordered this air rifle on the 2nd with two day amazon prime shipping. Got it on the 4th. Loved it the minute i opened package. It looks to be well made. Mounted the scope with no issues, the tools were included. The first shot was just a few inches off so i started sighting it in. With a few shots had it close..then with a few more had it dialed in. This was at about 45 yards. Can hit drink cans every shot now, so i think its pretty close to being perfect..It even goes all the way through 1/4 inch plywood with pba and lead pellets I recommend this gun to everyone who wants good distance and power for a good price. Only thing ill say negative is the site has two different info sections,, ones says "1200 Feet per Second with PBA Platinum ammo/1000 with lead" and the other says 950 fps and match grade accuracy with PBA Platinum ammunition. so a little mis leading..the box actually reads 950 with pba and 750 with lead.. still thats plenty of power and speed especially since i upgraded...Read more

This gun has a small sound while loading..But the pellet velocity is superb.Range is extraordinary.The gun is a masterpiece because you get good power for less price!!!!.So I like this product very very much.
