It is nicely designed, and has a great feel to it. The gun shoots tight groups to approximately 40 feet. That is the distance I zero'd in at. I'm sure it is capable of accuracy at a much further distance. The well finished hand gun is quite powerful. On the negative side, it does not have any provisions for mounting a laser or other alternate sights. If you don't care to use an optional sight, then no problem. Good shooting. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Daisy Powerline 617X air pistol (Sports) PROS:
This airgun is powerful, compact and a nice replica of the Beretta 92 FS firearm. In looking for the most powerful rotary clip airgun pistol, manufacurer specifications for various pistols were checked and led to a comparison of Crossman's 357w and Daisy's 617x. The fps rating on the box of the Crosman 357w was 10 fps higher than that of the 617x, but when these manufacturer specs were then compared to chronograph results in professional and consumer reviews, the 617x out performed its own fps rating from the manufacturer as well as the Crosman's 357w manufacturer specs and field test by up to 70 fps (up to 495 fps for about a 7.5 grain pellet in the 617x). So, though there are many good reviews for the Crosman 357w, if you are looking for the best power in a relatively compact airgun pistol, then the 617x seems to be the best there is at this time. Personal use shows that an 8.2 grain lead ball from Gamo can puncture up to 8 and a half empty soda cans from...Read more 4 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Daisy Powerline 617X air pistol (Sports) the rotary bb/pelet holder is hard to fill especially with bb's and when you have more than one holder, the bb's tend to fall out or are pulled out by the magnet in the other holders close to it. i didn't see any instructions on how to OPEN the breach to load the rounds and in the process of learning, well, f*ed it up. now, if i don't hold the barrel with a finger or thumb when i'm shooting, it pops open and no round is fired. a somewhat related issue is the firing mechanism used to work but now the trigger will not fire on every pull. sometimes you have to pull the trigger 2 or 3 times to get it to fire then you hope it actually worked. (the above issue) i'm VERY dissappointed even though it may be some of my fault, it would have helped if the instructions had been clearer. |
