Bought two of these several months ago for plinking & animal control around my small farm. 10 pumps and a hollow-point .177 pellet works well to deter foxes, dogs, coons, etc. from killing my chickens, and completely removes squirrels, birds, rats, etc. from the picture.
The gun itself is of good quality and is lightweight, which is a plus for youngsters. The included scope is on the lower end of the quality scale, and the gun itself isn't capable of match-grade accuracy. But considering gun & scope combined are less than $50 at most retailers, this is not surprising. It's a plinker and small game getter, and in that regard it shines.
The optics work well enough at backyard ranges, and at 25 yards I got both of mine zeroed to minute-of-bird in just a few shots with pellets. BB's consistently shoot about an inch to the left of pellets with both, so when using BB's I just compensate a little to the right and hit the target every time.

It's a fine rifle, but Daisy's QA isn't up to snuff.,

I bought this rifle a few months ago. I have treated it very well, oiling the barrel on purchase and only using high quality pellets.
Unfortunately, the scope is of very low quality. I could not zero it, to the point that it was hitting four inches off the mark at the limits of the scope. When I disassembled it, I found that the L-R adjustment screw had become stripped, and that the crosshairs were halfway detached from the end of the tube which contains them.
Despite this, I found the rifle was quite precise with the iron sights, and enjoyed plinking cans and target shooting. However, after two months of light-moderate use, it began to leak air. Not long after, it stopped holding air all together. I NEVER left it charged for longer than 5-10 minutes, and always worked the pump with care. Needless to say I was very disappointed. It cost me $12 plus time and effort to ship the rifle and scope to the Daisy repair department, which is a quarter of what I spent on it...Read more

Rifle is easy to operate and powerful. Only issue is shoots either to the left or right by 1 1/2"@ 30' Tabs on rear sight adjustment do not provide for a better rear sight adjustment. Once you know it shoots to either side and you can't make it shoot horizontally correct, aim to either side and it's fairly accurate. Same problem on a friends rifle so it's a manufacturing problem.
