About Crosman
In 1923 in Rochester, New York, Crosman was founded as Crosman Arms Company. From its inception, Crosman's principal products were airguns and airgun ammunition. During the 1950s, new accounts included Sears Roebuck & Co., Montgomery Ward, and Western Auto, all of which sold Crosman's products under their respective brand names.
In 1966, Crosman introduced its own Crosman brand airgun, the Crosman Pumpmaster 760, which has sold more than 11 million units to date. Crosman Corporation is now an international designer, manufacturer, and marketer of Crosman pellet, BB, airsoft rifles and pistols, Copperhead ammunition, and Benjamin pellet rifles and ammunition.

This review is from: Crosman Quest 800X + 4x32mm scope air rifle (Sports) This is a great rifle for rodent control, plinking, or target shooting. The Quest is relatively easy to cock and load and packs a surprising punch. The craftsmanship is excellent with a nicely finished all wood stock that balances well. The scope has nice, clear optics and seems to hold up well on an air rifle with this much power. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I've read ratings ranging from 800 FPS to 1200 FPS. I'd guess that the velocity is somewhere in the middle. I'm very happy with the power. The weight of the gun tells me it's built with care and quality. This is NOT a backyard can shooter. A stray shot could easily cause real damage to man or beast. My only surprises were the effort required to cock the rifle, the kick (like firing an actual 22 caliber long rifle shell), and the noise level (about the same as an air compressor powered nail gun). For a petite female shooter she may find it difficult to cock the rifle. These aren't complaints, but observations. Admittedly, I don't have a great deal of experience with pellet guns but I was happily surprised by the performance of the Quest. The single shot pellet guns can be a pain sometimes but it forces people like me to be more patient and make each shot count.
