I received my Optimus .22 caliber and notice immediately,when removing it from the shipping carton,that this gun looked and felt like its high-power cousins. The stock was nicely done,CNC machining is my guess,and the bluing job was nice.The included scope that you install yourself is not a high-dollar scope,but will do the job for the time being.I would suggest that before your first range session to thoroughly clean the brass lined barrel first-I didn't and the first groups where a little opened up.On the second day in the backyard range,having cleaned the bore,my groups began to get tighter.I believe Crosman suggests a 200 to 500 pellet break in period.The gun should get smoother and more accurate.I have fired about 100 rounds through mine and it seems to get better with each session.I make a point of cleaning the bore after each outing and wiping the exterior down with WD-40.You have to put your hand on the barrel each time you cock the rifle and I don't want body salts and oils...Read more

Purchased this as birthday gift for my father. It came with a nice scope, which he ended up not wanting so I put it on my Phantom (which is also a great buy). It was easy to adjust the sites. One thing that wasn't clear in the directions is that the trigger adjust screw actually affects how difficult it is to break the barrel. So if you can get the barrel to break, adjust the screw by the trigger guard. It is powerful! About as loud as a subsonic .22 round. It's shoot tight groups.

this is not a cheap air rifle...
its not top of the line but for a hundred bucks this is an amazing deal.
ive had mine for about 6 months now and i use it every week. this gun has been
used, abused, and overused, but is really durable. despite minor scratches, its still in perfect
condition!
now lets talk about power.
all of you eager young children have only one concern. power. i assure you this gun
has easily enough power to dispatch squirrels, possums, and even the occasional racoon.
the barrel is easy enough to break, unless your weak.
Pros:
pretty accurate comes with a centerpoint scope once that is tuned in you will have deadly precision.
powerful, especially for the price. be careful you dont kill any people!!
good ironsights. the neon green really sticks out and it is microadjustable for more accuracy
durable. can handle anything you can throw at it
