Great rifle. No problems with cocking lever, etc. Very little recoil and much quieter than a normal springer.
Shoots very accurately with Crosman Premier 7.9gr (Brown Box ones).
Scope was a little fuzzy at 9x, but dialed back to 8.5+ and it cleared right up. Picatinny/weaver rail setup is great.
Would change out trigger for a GRT-III trigger from Charlie Da Tuna available on website [...]
Gun was not covered with excessive lubricant etc. Barrel cleaned right up with 6 patches run down with weedwhacker trimmer cord and Goo Gone before shooting. Dieseled only once and then was very quiet after that.

I purchased a Crosman Nitro Venom with the plastic stock a month before receiving this one. It was useless after firing only three pellets...my guess is a bad design related to the plastic stock(read the reviews on the plastic stock model), as my new one with a wooden stock is a great pellet rifle. Accurate, powerful and quiet! Many people complain about the trigger, and it is stiff. But I am very accurate at 30 yards (the distance i usually shoot pellet targets/small game) and won't be spending additional money to improve upon anything. Stick with the wood stock--same price, much nicer and doesn't seem to suffer from the defects that plague the plastic stock model.

The Nitro Venom is one of the finest air rifles I have shot. It is very accurate is quiet and feels good in the hands. I bought the 22 Caliber and although a little slower than its 17 caliber brother it makes up for it in power. I bought the wood stock model which has a good finish on it. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a nice well-built and powerful air rifle.
