Crosman's highest-velocity variable pump air rifle, the 2104x shoots pellets at a whopping 725 feet per second (755 fps with BBs), so you can efficiently hit targets from a distance. The air rifle is equipped with a 4x15mm riflescope and a fiber-optic front sight, making it easy to acquire your target. Pellets are loaded one at a time, while BBs are loaded into a reservoir that holds 200 at once and then dropped into a 17-capacity magazine. Finally, the rifle feels as good as it shoots, with an all-metal die-cast receiver that offers the heft and feel of a sporting gun. Other features include adjustable windage and elevation, a bolt-action mechanism, and a cross-bolt safety.

Alright folks, let's remember, ...this is a kid's BB gun and it costs about $75.
I'm amazed to see the lofty expectations of reviewers.
This BB gun does NOT have hand carved wood. Did I mention it was a $75 BB gun and not a $1.5K sniper rifle?
Construction seems very sturdy and the plastic stock looks and functions just fine.
This gun is actually the CROSMAN 2100 classic. They added a scope and changed the name to a 2104X. The box will show "2100 Classic" in big letters. Do not return it. You received the right one (as long as the scope is in the box).
The scope was much better than I anticipated. The gun and scope work very well and my son and I have been having a great time target shooting in the backyard. I'll even set up a bottle from time to time because there's nothing more fun for a boy than to shoot up bottles with his BB gun.
Buy with confidence, this is a well constructed gun that is absolutely worth the $75 and you'll have great fun. I suggest...Read more

I got this gun because everyone shoots with a sight now including the military and my son needs to get used to shooting with a sight. As long as you pump it for your son or daughter you will be fine and should they be using it without you? Probably not, so I consider it a plus.
Pros:
Pleasantly surprising accuracy and adjustment with scope
Cheap
Classic Look
Hard to pump (no preteen can do it)
Cons:
Too Wide a Barrel (bbs will sometimes roll out if pointed down)
Very Heavy (heavier than an M-16)
I don't know how durable it is but the construction seems solid. Either the barrel is too wide or my bbs are too small. This is a serious disadvantage and affects accuracy often.

This is my first air rifle in many years and I like it.
Good points: 1) The pump is easy to handle but with a heavy spring. To use, take the pump stock in one hand and put the other hand on the stock behind the breach, then pump. I've found that to be the most comfortable position and the safest. Five pumps is good for target shooting at 25ft. 2) With the iron sights, the accuracy is excellent and is consistent one shot to the next. The fiber optic front sight helps.
Needs Help: 1) The telescopic sight came unusable. The eye piece had been cross-threaded into the sight so the scope was bent. I called Crosman and they said a new one would be sent out. 2) If you fill the spring load to the top with BBs, you get two BBs when you load the breach. You'll have to check how many BBs you get before sliding the breach into the barrel. My solution is to only load about half (20) the BBs into the spring loader. 3) Putting pellets into the breach is also a challenge. The...Read more
