The first thing I noticed when I opened the box up was how large the rifle was. This is my third pellet rifle that shoots 1000+fps and it is by far the heaviest and largest. With that being said it is not too cumbersome to shoot or break down, BUT if you a not a big person it may be taxing to shoot the gun over and over. On to power...lots of it. Ive killed squirrels and crows at over 25 yards with a single shot, unbelievable power out of a pellet rifle. On to accuracy...very good, but not the best Ive shot. It will however make very tight groupings at 20-25 yards, just not the most accurate pellet rifle Ive shot. On to noise...yes the box has all sorts of noise claims. They are all true, you can hear the pellet impact a pest. It is very smooth and quiet due to nitrogen chamber and the oversized barrel. BUT WAIT, it is not perfect. (1) The craftmanship is not on par. Its not terrible either, just not RWS quality. Why, why, why did crosman let this quality control issue go...Read more

You have probably read about the power the NP XL air rifle offers at a lower price than the competition. The gas spring is a nice addition, and the thumbhold stock is attractive. I read the reviews and hype too, so I bought it.
I had to shim the scope (always was hitting around 8 inches too high at 10 yards). About 15 sections of paper under the front ring of the scope mount did the trick. I've never had to shim a scope before, but if that were the main thing wrong I'd have given it 5 stars anyway.
The real problem started after the first 50 shots. When cocking, the piston would occasionally miss the seer, requiring several attempts before catching. A few shots later, the seer started disengage while I was loading it, after the gun was cocked. This happened several times, fortunately I always kept one hand on the barrel while using the other hand to load, so at least I didn't lose any fingers.
After about 100 shots, the gun began firing ~1 out of...Read more

THIS AFTER A FEW SHOTS SEEMS TO BE A VERY NICE 22. CAL. PELLET GUN.
VERY POWERFUL WITH ALOT OF SPEED
EASY TO COCK AND LOAD
VERY ACCURATE AFTER MOUNTING SCOPE. SO FAR NO ADJUSTMENTS AT 25 TO 50 YARDS. HAVE NOT SHOT FUTHER YET.
A LITTLE HEAVY BUT I LIKE THE WEIGHT WITH THE SLING FOR A STEADY SHOT.
THIS GUN HAS A LITTLE KICK FROM THE POWER PISTON AND SO FAR NOT LOUD AT ALL.
I HAVE HAD A FEW PELLET GUNS OVER THE YEARS AND THIS ONE IS BY FAR TOWARD THE PRO END.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RIFLE IF YOU WANT A GUN THATS NOT A TOY.
