Someone seems to have missed reading the booklet: the Co2 cartridge is not punctured by screwing the cap on, but rather by the air valve inside when firing the gun. You don't have to go nuts making the cap tight, just snug will do on this pistol. Use only a quarter coin to make the cap snug, then cock the gun without a pellet, point the gun is a safe direction and pull the trigger. You will think nothing has happened, but the cartridge has been punctured and the gun is ready to be cocked, loaded and fired. You will have full pressure by the 2nd shot.
I have this gun and like it, but if you want a pistol to modify and customize, buy the Crossman 2240, which is cheaper (at first!).

Well made, accurate pellet pistol. All steel and wood, no plastics. If you are wanting to scare off pests, target shoot or show your kids how to handle a pistol you will not be disappointed.

The EB 22 feels like a pistol, solidly built and is very accurate. Not a hunting handgun in my opinion but a fine informal target pistol. I believe the rear sight should have a slot rather than a hole in it for windage adustment. I also believe it should come with a tool of some sort for tightening the filler cap as I was unable to pierce the co2 cartridge by hand tightening. I have found a HUNTER brand holster that will carry it and plan to use this handgun a lot for plinking sessions at a variety of targets. Fit and finish of the EB22 was very good but the serial # was hard to read without a magnifying glass. I would buy this handgun again and will recommend it to friends.
