The Beeman P17 is a direct authorized Chinese copy of the Weihrauch HW40 PCA (two hundred bucks) and the Beeman P3 (two hundred and thirty bucks) single stroke pneumatic .177 pellet pistol. The P17, at the insanely low price of thirty five bucks or so, is an absolute steal. The gun's light trigger, incredible accuracy, adjustable sights, and perfect balance are simply not obtainable on any target pistol until you reach the price level of the P3 and the HW40.
The only small negative to this gun is that I would like a much more positive click indent when adjusting the rear sights. FYI: Single stroke pneumatics are not meant for those with weak arms, but any healthy male over the age of 13 and female over the age of 15 should be able to handle the cocking pressure required to charge the P17. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beeman P17 air pistol (Misc.) I'm a big fan of high-end adult air guns and was not really too interesten in a low budget gun. However, the p17's unique heritage really interested me. Now that I have gotten to shoot it a fair bit, I am very impressed with it. The manufacturing is not like a high end gun where you can ooo and ahh at the finish and precision (all plastic exterior), but it is good enough to do justice to the design. And the design is wonderfully simple and works very well. The fit and sturdiness of the plastic is pretty good. It is more accurate than I am. The trigger does not have a nice clean two stage break, but it is light and smooth enough that it does not hurt accuracy (at least at my not so high skill level). It is accuate enough to be fun(as opposed to some other sub $100 air pistols I have shot). For $45 after shipping I could not be happier. Great to come home after work and shoot some targets in the back yard to relax. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Beeman P17 air pistol (Misc.) This thing is huge, pretty heavy and built very solid. Feels like your holding a desert eagle. The pressure to close the pump cylinder to give it power takes alot of strength- 28pounds of pressure. This gun is very powerfull blows pellets right into a tree with nothing sticking out from about 10 feet. I think this would have no problem taking out small game. Pretty loud burst and power. Better than I could have imagined and very happy. Took one star off because of effort to pump and single shot only, but you will love this gun! This is the one. |
