The Appeal of Airsoft Guns
Due to the law and the cost, people cannot always own their dream guns. Airsoft, however, provides you with a realistic replica, allowing you to own a shooting (albeit nonlethal) version of that weapon. In fact, many of the weapons you often see in movies and TV shows are airsoft guns, thanks to the relatively cheap price tags and precise realism. The directors simply digitally alter the images to incorporate the muzzle flash, sound, and effects to mimic the real firearms. Generally speaking, most of the popular real-steel firearms have an airsoft counterpart, including the Heckler & Koch MP5 series, the venerable Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle series, Colt M16s, Steyr AUGs, SIG 550s, FAMAs, AK-47s, M60 machine guns, IMI Uzi and Ingram sub-machine guns, famed pistols like Barettas, Colts, SIGs, and Glocks, Benelli M2 and Remington 870 shotguns, and sniping rifles like the PSG-1, M40A1, and Blaser 93R. Even Hollywood guns like the RoboCop pistol and the M134 Vulcan--a six-barrel Gatling gun made famous by the Predator and Terminator movies--have airsoft counterparts.
The ability to own and play with your dream guns is appealing enough to many enthusiasts. The added advantage of taking these guns to a local playing field and "shooting" your best friends in a friendly competition is a hands-down selling point. There are countless clubs, teams, and organizations devoted to the sport of "waging war" with airsoft guns, known throughout the world as skirmishing. In essence, airsoft role-playing allows people to fulfill their fantasies, which (due to physical disabilities or circumstances) they never got the chance to do themselves. These people may be bankers, insurance brokers, secretaries, students, or computer programmers by profession, but for one day a week they can be Green Berets, assassins, SWAT members, Navy SEALs, or whatever else.

After reading varying reviews we decided to give it a try. After removing the magazine, loading, and trying to reinsert it, the plastic broke that holds the magazine in place. We were able to glue it back on and use it with difficulty. The next day the cocking mechanism became jammed and we cannot use it at all. What a disappointment!!! We went to the store and bought a very nice Crossman airsoft that is worth the price and works beautifully.
The old adage-you get what you pay for is so true in the instance. 113 of 141 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) You cock it like a regular ak or sniper on the side. (left side for those looking at the pic. of course the scope is fake. i haven't clocked the ftps just shooting around with it as i just got it today. it is all plastic so beware how your treat it. certain parts are strong ab plastic other areas like where you put the mag in is just cheap. it comes with a strap and a level bipod. you assemble the gun together, it includes instructions on paper as well as the back of the box but you shouldn't need it unless you're really young. then just press the release button to disassemble and store back in the box. the release button is preety tight, it will take a couple times of disassembling before it will be easy to press in the release button. make sure when you load the clip...Read more 62 of 78 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Air Spring Rifle with Bipod and Scope (Airsoft) (Misc.) wow, where do i start, i couldn't have trash-picked anything worse than this gun, despite these o so "positive" reviews, the gun is about 140FPS, it weighs about a poung, the handle is so tiny, my 3-year old nephew's hands are too big for it, lol, the stock doesnt go past my forearm, and when i removed the barrell and fired it, the tip of the gun shattered, the covers for the "joke-of-a-scope" broke immediately, this is the worst way ANYONE could possibly spend their 10$, you might as well burn your ten dollar bill. here are some specifications summed up for you. and oh yeah if you get this far in my review, i hope you're laughing as hard as i did when i took it out of the box
